Situation: Third Generation Owner Contemplating the Sale of the Company

The Company: The lessor of railroad maintenance-of-way I"MOW") equipment to Class I, II & III railroad operators and construction companies and as well as a rail construction and repair company. ACME/RELAM is located in Solon, Ohio.

Assignment: Hired by the third-generation owner of ACME/RELAM to review the company's business, multi-year financial and operating information, provide valuation expectations, create marketing material to review with investment bankers, source and hire a deal transaction team including legal, investment banking, tax, accounting, due diligence and market assessment professionals.

Outcome: Cornerstone Advisory Services introduced ACME/RELAM's owner to a number of investment bankers with equipment leasing expertise leading to the hiring of Lazard Middle Market investment bankers. The transaction closed in 2020 through a sale to a strategic buyer for approximately $185 million.
